Care & Cleaning

We are very proud to create our carpets in the way we do. With every piece, we hope to create that warm, soft and grounded feeling we all need sometimes. Designed with our users in mind, we consider the spaces and activities that our rugs reside in. Basic care for any rug involves regular vacuuming once or twice a week, using a low suction setting and avoiding cleaning heads to prevent fiber damage. We also recommend professional cleaning at least once a year.

Some shedding can be expected when unrolling your rug for the first time. This results from excess fibers in the production process coming loose and can be resolved by a simple vacuum. Similarly, during the shearing process, threads may occasionally be missed and appear longer. Simply cut with a sharp pair of scissors to the pile height.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Regular care
In order to avoid regular use marks, we advise you to turn the rug every once in a while.

Rugs made from natural materials are subject to some pilling during the first few months. This is a common characteristic of natural cut fibers and will disappear after 3 or 4 months of normal use. A dry environment can result in extra pilling of the yarn. A humidity between 50-70% will benefit the lifecycle of your rug.

Wet Stains 
Stains are best to be removed immediately after they take place, preferably with an absorptive (kitchen paper) towel. If needed, dilute the stain with a little bit of lukewarm water and dab the stain with the towel until the yarn of the carpet feels dry. It is best not to rub the stain, as that may damage the yarn. Do not, in any case, rub or put pressure on the rug when wet. This can damage the fibers and the structure of the rug.

Heavy Stains
In case of exceeding spilling we recommend seeking a professional carpet cleaning company for your carpet if necessary.

Bleach, chlorine and other cleaning products are not friends of natural products, nor to your carpet.

Warranty
Mare Studio guarantees its rugs for 2 years of normal use.

All our products are made with care. In case a manufacturing defect escaped our attention, please inform us within 14 days after delivery and leave the product unused.

Small differences or irregularities in color, weft or size may occur. This is inherent to the use of natural fibers and has to be accepted when within normal commercial tolerances.

Mare Studio will not accept any complaint if shading is concerned.
